QA Lead - Mobile Applications 

New Iron is leading a search for QA Lead for a dynamic rapidly growing software company. 

This is a challenging direct-hire role to build and ensure server-side performance of online large-scale applications used by hundreds of thousands of simultaneous users. 

Our client’s product has millions of unique users daily, a large transaction volume, and strict response requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience ensuring, and improving the user experience of similar applications. 

Your job will be to define a test strategy and lead a QA engineering team in developing, maintaining, and executing tests. 

A primary focus will be to establish an automated framework to support the unit testing and TDD delivery of the engineering teams. You should have the ability to influence your team members in test first best practices.

 

The ideal candidate: 

  • Values and prioritizes well designed, testable, extensible and maintainable code 
  • Experience coordinating a team of QA developers 
  • Mentor and train team members 
  • Has hands-on test case writing as well as test case execution skills

Responsibilities, may include: 

  • Working with other functional teams to support the design of test cases for CI/CD automation and operations, performance, compliance/security testing 
  • Ensuring the delivery high-quality products 
  • Developing high-quality use-case/test-case requirements that define goals, acceptance criteria, and measurable results.
  • Providing budget, training, and hiring needs to senior management
  • Improving existing test applications 
  • Tracking and reporting metrics (defect densities/open defect counts) 

 

Should Have: 

  • At least 2+ years of experience managing teams 
  • At least 3+ years of mobile software testing experience 
  • Expert with web automation tools such as (Selenium, Appium, Katalon Studio) 
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, testing tools, and processes
  • Strong, demonstrable background in TDD. 
  • Understanding of mobile software development challenges
  • Agile; Must have practical experience with unit testing and Continuous Integration
  • Knowledge in concepts of Performance & Load Testing
  • Skills with high fluency in defect tracking
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, time-management skills 
  • Experience with SOA ( REST, SOAP, XML, JSON)

Nice to have: 

  • Managing outsourced teams 
  • BS in Computer Science
